Downtown Santiago.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00abVisual Borders of Transition: Art, Advertising, and Media Culture in the Return to Democracy in Chile.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Within the framework of the inauguration of the academic year of our university's Art Department, the book will be presented <em>Visual Frontiers of Transition: Art, Advertising, and Media Culture in the Return to Democracy in Chile<\/em> from the art historian and curator <strong>Sebasti\u00e1n Vidal Valenzuela<\/strong> who in this book provides us with an unprecedented panorama of the visual arts in the early years of the so-called democratic transition.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ff00;\"><strong>\u2192 Participants<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrea Giunta (Argentina). <\/strong>Art historian, independent curator, and professor of Latin American and global art at the University of Buenos Aires. Her research has contributed to redefining the study of modern art in Latin America from feminist perspectives. She is the author of books such as\u00a0<em>Diversity and Latin American Art<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Political Body<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Against the canon<\/em>\u00a0y\u00a0<em>Feminism and Latin American Art<\/em>. He curated international exhibitions such as\u00a0<em>Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960\u20131985<\/em>\u00a0and was a curator for the Mercosur Biennial. In 2026, she received the College Art Association's highest honor for her research in art and feminism.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sebasti\u00e1n Vidal Valenzuela (Chile). <\/strong>Art historian and independent curator. Earned a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin and holds a master's and bachelor's degree in Art Theory and History from the University of Chile. He is the author of the book\u00a0<em>In the Beginning: Art, Archives, and Technologies During the Dictatorship in Chile<\/em>\u00a0and co-editor of\u00a0<em>Trans-Andean Exchanges: Art Stories Between Argentina and Chile<\/em>.
