Chile. Pseudonym of María Zulema Reyes Valledor, she was a writer and poet who cultivated various genres: short story, novel, theater, and children's literature. She began writing as a child and before turning twenty she was already collaborating with various national newspapers. She was one of the founders of the PEN Club of Chile and the Writers' Union. She received various awards, among which the Atenea award from the University of Concepción for the novel Puertas verdes y caminos blancos stands out, as well as the Hans Christian Andersen award granted by IBBY. Some of her works are: Inquietud, Ola nocturna, Elegías (poetry); Bosque sonoro, La extranjera (short stories); Tía Eulalia (novel); La llama inmóvil (theater); Historia de una negrita blanca, La paloma paseadora (children's literature).
