Chile. Full Professor at the University of Concepción, an institution where he has worked since 1993. He holds a degree in Spanish, a master's degree in Linguistics, and a doctorate in Hispanic Philology with a specialization in Linguistics from the University of Valladolid, Spain. His research has focused on the phonetic-phonological variation of Chilean Spanish, child phonology, and the phonetics of Mapudungun from the Alto Biobío region. He has been a principal investigator in regular Fondecyt projects and a co-investigator in others, resulting in numerous articles published in both national and international indexed journals.
