Chile. Holds a Bachelor's degree in History and a Master's degree in Philosophy with a concentration in Moral and Political Philosophy from the University of Chile. He earned his Ph.D. in Latin American History from the Freie Universität Berlin. He is an academic at the Institute of History and Social Sciences at the Austral University of Chile. He has published articles on the Chilean dictatorship and the theory of history. Some of his recent articles include “Rumor propagation as Social Control: A case from dictatorial Chile,” Journal of Modern European History, 2012, Vol. 10:3, 391-411 (with Stefan Rinke) and “The Unintended Consequences of September 11, 1973. Transnational Activism and the Human Rights Movement in Latin America,” Iberoamericana, Vol. 51:3, in press.
