Chile. Doctor of History from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She is a professor and researcher at the Department of History at Universidad Alberto Hurtado and at the Department of Bioethics and Medical Humanities at the University of Chile. The first edition of “Dar a Luz en Chile, Siglo XIX: de la ”ciencia de hembra“ a la ciencia obstétrica” was published by Ediciones DIBAM-Universidad Alberto Hurtado in 2007. She recently published the compilation, “Por la salud del cuerpo: historia y políticas sanitarias en Chile,” UAH, 2008. Her specialization is in the history of medicine, health, and gender relations in republican Chile. Among her recent articles are: “L’assistance clinique et sanitaire de l’accouchement: Trajectoire nationale et influences internationales, Santiago du Chili, 1900-1950”; “Parto, crianza y pobreza en Chile,” in Rafael Sagredo and Cristián Gazmuri eds., "Historia de la vida privada en Chile"; "Madres y ciudad.
