Chile. Doctor of Sociology from the London School of Economics, Master of Philosophy (MPhil.) in Cultural Studies from Birmingham University, and Sociologist from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Her work examines subjectivity and individuals in contemporary neoliberal society, especially at their intersection with morality and often from a historical perspective. In recent years, her research has focused specifically on the issues of political violence and the role that documentation of human rights violations and archives play in a society's ability to deal with violent pasts. The book “Resistance to Political Violence in Latin America. Documenting atrocity” (Palgrave, 2019) provides an in-depth analysis of the documentation, denunciation, and resistance of state violence, and how it affected civilians, activists, and victims in Chile and around the world.
