Her research areas are the legal regulation of sexuality, historical sociology, and urban governance and law. A recognized specialist in socio-legal studies, she has published numerous scientific articles and books, mainly in English, notably Law’s Dream of a Common Knowledge (Princeton University Press, 2003) and Everyday Law on the Street: City Governance in an Age of Diversity (University of Chicago Press, 2012).
