Chile. Holds a degree in Philosophy from PUC (Pontifical Catholic University of Chile) and received a Ph.D. in Romance Studies from Cornell University (Ithaca, NY). He has worked as a professor and researcher at Alberto Hurtado University and others. He has practiced literary criticism and published academic articles in Chile and abroad. He wrote two poetry books: Escafandra (1998) and Año dos mil (2006). He edited Una nota estridente by Enrique Lihn (UDP, 2005).
