Chile. Considered the first female novelist, journalist, and academic of Chile, she received a privileged education that motivated her to fight for women's right to education, a recurring theme in her work and writings. She was recognized by the Academy of Fine Letters of Santiago, which awarded her the title of honorary member. She founded the Revista de Valparaíso, through which she focused on the dissemination of literature and science via articles and translations.
