Germany. Sociologist and director of the Institute of Sociology at the University of Freiburg/Germany. He studied Sociology, Modern History, and Philosophy; he obtained his doctorate and Habilitation in Sociology at the University of Freiburg, where he has been a professor of Cultural Sociology since 2011. His research interests include the Sociology of Social and Personal Technologies; Governmentality Studies, Sociology of Culture, among others.
