The Museum of Copies was an artistic-educational project created in Chile in 1899 by the journalist and politician Alberto Mackenna Subercaseaux. It consisted of the acquisition of a collection of copies of the finest models of classical sculpture to form the Museum and the School of Fine Arts, similar to the great museums of copies established in Europe since the 18th century.
