«Evaluation in Focus: A Critical and Proposing Examination for National, Teacher, and Classroom Evaluation. Editors Alejandra Falabella, María Beatriz Fernández, and María Teresa Flórez.

Teachers in schools – surely more than anyone – understand and experience how national and international standardized tests, teacher evaluations, performance bonuses, among others, are an integral part of their work and constitute political technologies that are not harmless. Evaluation is one of the most widespread political tools for mass regulation of educational systems.

The purpose of this book is to put evaluation in the spotlight, under a magnifying glass, to critically examine it based on the accumulated knowledge in the field, and in turn, to move towards a new evaluative paradigm and propose new possible scenarios.

They present

Viviana Castillo. National Coordinator of the Unit for Curriculum and Evaluation, Ministry of Education.
