Chile. Cultural critic and chronicler, he writes about Latin American literatures, cinema, cities, politics, travel, and food in various magazines and blogs. He is the author of Leer la pobreza en América Latina: Literatura y velocidad (Reading Poverty in Latin America: Literature and Speed) (Cuarto Propio, 2nd edition 2011); Revoluciones que no fueron: ¿Arte o política? (Revolutions That Weren't: Art or Politics?) (Cuarto Propio, 2013); and eight chapters in La nueva narrativa de España, Portugal y América Latina en 1970-2010 (The New Narrative of Spain, Portugal, and Latin America in 1970-2010), which will be published in Finnish in 2017. He studied a Bachelor's degree in Literature at the Catholic University of Chile, a Master's degree in Latin American Literature at the University of Chile, and earned his Ph.D. in Latin American Literature at Yale University. He collaborates for El Desconcierto in Chile, La Patria in Manizales, Colombia, and Tierra a la vista, in Boston.
