Chile. Senator of the Republic for the Metropolitan Region (2006-2014). Chairs the Constitution, Legislation, Justice, and Regulations Committee; and is a member of the Environment and National Assets Committee. She is part of the Board of Directors of the Paz Ciudadana Foundation and has been a member of the Governing Council of the Americas' Justice Center and the Superior Council of the Alberto Hurtado University. She has served as founding Minister of the National Women's Service (Patricio Aylwin Administration); Minister of Justice (Eduardo Frei R-T Administration); and Minister of Foreign Affairs (Ricardo Lagos Administration).
