Chile. He holds a doctorate in History from El Colegio de México. He works as an academic in the Department of History and Geography at the Metropolitan University of Educational Sciences. His research focuses on Latin American popular culture, the social uses of images during the 19th and 20th centuries, and the links between history and cinema. He is the author of "Ciudad de voces impresas: historia cultural de Santiago de Chile, 1880-1910" (Mexico City and Santiago, 2019) and "Manuela Orellana, la criminal: género, cultura y sociedad en el Chile del siglo XVIII" (Santiago, 2006).
