The Mapocho River and its banks
Public Space and Urban Intervention in Santiago, Chile (1885-1918)

Simon Castillo Fernandez

$20.000

The urban is understood as a dense and complex process where –in addition to the presence of nature– interests and powers, customs and habits interact: just like today's public space. In this way, the city and its public space are no longer viewed as strictly architectural or urban planning problems, but are understood as a sociocultural issue.
