This book analyzes the reflections and debates that Black/Afro-descendant intellectuals in Spanish-speaking America have developed in their written productions throughout the 20th century. These are women and men who identify as Black and/or Afro-descendant, an enunciative position from which they have problematized their place in Latin American societies. The experience of racial discrimination, belonging to the nation, African origins, revolution, identity claims, social organization, among others, are some of the topics they have explored in their publications, which allow us to account for a current of thought with its own specificities.
