«Periphery: Populations and urban development in Santiago de Chile, 1920-1940. Authors Simón Castillo and Waldo Vila.
The book launch relates how the outskirts of Santiago expanded from the late 19th century, beginning with the creation of municipalities such as Renca, San Miguel, Quinta Normal, Maipú, and Conchalí, which led to the expansion of areas like Chuchunco (Estación Central), Avenida Vivaceta, Plaza Chacabuco (Independencia), and El Salto (Recoleta).
