Through an enjoyable read, the author presents in this book the ten most significant cumbias of the Vikings 5 and undertakes an engaging ethnomusicological work that includes an analysis explaining the rhythmic, melodic, harmonic, timbral, interpretive, orchestration, and structural aspects that contribute to understanding the particularity of this musical group's cumbia.
The book concludes with the transcriptions, in musical score format, of the ten cumbias analyzed. The objective is for them to be reviewed not only by researchers or those interested in learning about the characteristics of the Vikings 5's cumbia, but also for them to be performed by national and international musicians.

Constanza Fuentes Landaeta
Chile. Researcher, musicologist, music teacher, arranger, and composer, she is currently pursuing a doctorate in Ethnomusicology at the University of Texas, Austin, USA. She obtained a bachelor's degree in Education and a teaching degree in music education from the Universidad Andrés Bello and studied composition and arrangement in popular music at the Escuela Moderna de Música in Chile. She obtained a master's degree in Musicology, Music Education, and Early Music Performance from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain. She has presented her research work at conferences and congresses both in Chile and internationally. She won the Doctorate Abroad Scholarship competition (Becas Chile), as well as securing the Fund for the Promotion of National Music, in the research track, from the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Heritage of Chile.Related books
