An excerpt from the report and interview by Nicolás Poblete to Lorena Amaro and the collection Reclaimed Library.
«The project «Rescued Library» it originates with the impulse of Alejandra Stevenson and Beatriz García-Huidobro, who, from the Universidad Alberto Hurtado, envisioned the rescue as a way to “give new life to literature written by women in Chile since the 19th century, with works that today are only available in old editions and are even almost nonexistent in the libraries of our country.” With these
words, each of the titles is presented, which, moreover, stand out for their attractive editions, with beautiful illustrations and covers.
This essential rescue is, without a doubt, one of the most meritorious publishing events of recent years. To date, there are 8 titles in the library, each presented by a prominent academic and/or writer. The texts are by: Alia Trabucco, Daniela Catrileo, Lorena Amaro, Alida Mayne-Nicholls, Lucía Guerra, Macarena Urzúa, Beatriz García-Huidobro, and Andrea Kottow.
