By Ricardo Amigo Dürre
This book is the result of the author's doctoral research at the Center for Latin American Cultural Studies of the University of Chile. It presents an analysis of “the reflections and debates that black/Afro-descendant intellectuals in Spanish-speaking America have developed in their written productions throughout the 20th century and thus far into the 21st” (11). This opening sentence summarizes the theoretical-methodological choices that underpin the book's main contributions, to which I will refer.
