She was foolish. She was foolish, because one knows that drunkards don't reason. My uncle T. would arrive late and ask her, holding onto the gate, to let him come in: sweetheart, My little one, open up… You're already drunk! What are you Hi I believedAgain?, UnfortunateAnd he would scold her and scribble at her. It wasn't until he kicked the door that she would open it and run out, my uncle T. chasing after her.
On the table, tea, bread, and a past unknown to me set the scene for the afternoon tea hour. I was a child, and Aunt A.'s story, told in my grandmother's voice, accompanied us. Older, a single question: but, grandma, why did Uncle T. hit her? And the answer, always the same: it's because she was foolish, she was foolish. My tío T. would arrive with a little buzz, but he wasn't insolent, he hit her because she insulted him. He would ask, please, for them to open the door and since A. would yell at him, he would get angry. It was her fault, because if she hadn't said anything...
