«Soldiers of Repression: Anticommunism, National Security, and Counter-Subversion of the Chilean Armed Forces, 1970-1975 by Pablo Seguel.

This discussion will focus on the role of state repression with a counter-subversive approach, the professionalization process of the Chilean Armed Forces and police, and national security during the period of institutional crisis generated between the Unidad Popular government, the coup d'état, and the civic-military dictatorship. This and other topics from our recent history, whose edges and points of view require exploration with the distance of time, are addressed in depth in this book and will be presented in this discussion along with its author and other historians.
