Chile. He holds a Ph.D. and Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin, and master's and bachelor's degrees in Sociology from Pontificia Universidad Católica. He works as a full professor in the Department of Sociology at Universidad Alberto Hurtado. This work is a continuation of three other books by him published in this collection: The Assembly of Social Science and Society. Scientific Knowledge, Governance of Conduct, and the Production of the Social (2012), The production of poverty as an object of governance (2016) y Sociological Narratives and Society (2019). In all of them, the entanglement or “assembly” between science and society is explored. In the first, this is done in a more theoretical and abstract way, while in the other two, it is done empirically, with reference to particular aspects of Chilean social reality.
