Community care is a good defense that older women have to resist the onslaughts of a life dedicated to caring for others: their children, their husbands, their grandchildren, and their relatives. This attention to other people structures women's lives, conditions their schedules, their activities, and their participation in society. Clubs provide a space and time that women can dedicate to themselves. They share activities, experiences, desires, and frustrations; for a few hours, they abandon their daily lives dedicated to others to become the protagonists.
