Spinoza: From Commentary to Philosophical Use

This volume brings together five original contributions that seek, each in its own way and according to specific issues, to examine different ways in which Spinoza's work has been read, both within and outside of philosophy. A frequent relationship exists among all Spinozists with Spinoza, where they propose an affectionate reading of Spinoza. This does not mean that their readings are not “serious”: the scholarship and depth of the authors of this book, when not explicit, can be felt behind every line. But, above all, all these works raise real problems, whether within the framework of commentary or philosophical application.
