The presentation of this text, which, in an intermedial approach, addresses the Latin American song from a diversity of proposals, precisely forms part of the richness of popular culture and achieves the musical unification of the region. The author provides case studies concerning seven genres prevalent in Latin America in the nineties: nueva canción, fusion, countercurrents, pop-rock, punk, funk, and hip-hop.
