«Activism, music, and education. Perspectives from Chilean reality and Chilean Cumbia. Records and sheet music of Los Vikings 5.»

An afternoon full of music and reflection on music education from the perspective of activism. In this context, traditional pedagogical practices are not only questioned, but testimonies are also highlighted that demonstrate the existence and relevance of activist music pedagogies.

Furthermore, from an ethnomusicological perspective, the ten most representative cumbias by Los Vikings 5 will be analyzed, addressing rhythmic, melodic, harmonic, timbral, interpretative, orchestrational, and structural aspects that allow for an understanding of the singularity of this iconic musical ensemble's cumbia.
